In the city of Charlevoix, Michigan the last name Carey has a historic reputation that spans decades.
This is mostly due to my Grandfather's generation of brothers and sisters that made their mark professionally, athletically, academically, socially and in many other capacities.

Specifically, my Grandpa (Don Carey) was a high school educator and football coach.  His successes led him to not only victories on the field, but in the classroom and in the lives of his students and athletes.

Recently, my brother - who is now an employee of the University of Michigan - spotted our Grandpa Don's name on a plaque at the Big House, as an inductee to the state of Michigan's 'Coaches Hall of Fame'.

When people talk about being proud of family, this is a perfect example.
