In Those Genes...

FamilyMatters... And it's something to be proud of.

My brother recently sent me a link to a Wikipedia site that is dedicated to our Great Uncle and legendary Michigan State Spartan: Bob Carey. (http://bit.ly/b34Kur)

This particular page documents the many successes that our Unlce "Bob" achieved during his athletic career. For example, his starring role in Charlevoix HighSchool's 1945 undefeated football team that did not allow a point all season. Or his collegiate career in which he spent four years earning nine Varsity letters while starting in three different sports @ MSU. Not to mention his selection by the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the 1952 NFL Draft and a multitude of other accomplishments.

In addition to the recognition UncleBob garnished in his lifetime, he also shared the lime-light with some very special siblings. Bill Carey was Bob's twin and a stellar collegiate athlete himself, and then their was Grandpa Don. Inducted into the Michigan High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame, this exceptionally gifted family man also carried on the historic Carey painting business and was a pillar in the Rayder (Charlevoix) community.

These men were strong.... Mind & Body. They helped to establish a tradition of family that still resonates in the Charlevoix area today, and these are my relatives!

I feel very blessed and proud to be a part of such a successful family tree!
